INPP UK offers two distinct training programmes, a one-year Practitioner Course leading to internationally accredited Licentiate status, and a One-Day Teachers Course providing practical neuromotor tools for classroom settings. Both are delivered by Pauline Shannon, National Principal for Training, to the rigorous standards of INPP International.
One-Day Teachers Course: Neuromotor Readiness for Learning
Many teachers notice long before any formal referral that something is making learning harder for certain children. The INPP One-Day Teachers Course gives educators the understanding and practical tools to recognise when neuromotor immaturity may be a contributing factor, and to do something constructive about it.
The day covers the role of primitive reflexes in early development, what neuromotor immaturity may look like in a classroom setting, and how to implement the INPP School Intervention Programme, a ten-minute daily movement routine designed for whole-class use over a full academic year.
The course is suitable for teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants, and educational psychologists. It does not require a background in neuroscience beyond what educators already bring from their professional training.
What the day covers
Identifying movement-related challenges in the classroom; the role of movement in sensory perception and coordination; understanding neuromotor immaturity; training in the INPP Screening Test for children aged 4–7.
Hands-on practice conducting INPP screening assessments; group participation in the INPP Developmental Movement Programme; guidance on implementing the daily play-based programme for younger children.
Attendees must have access to the training manual prior to the course. The manual is available from Wiley (£68.95), details provided on booking. Course fee: £250 + VAT per person.

INPP Practitioner Course, One Year to Licentiate Status
The professionals who apply for INPP practitioner training are already skilled and already experienced. What this programme offers is not a replacement for what they know, it is a structured, evidence-based framework for understanding and addressing the neuromotor foundations that underlie so many of the difficulties practitioners encounter every day.
The course leads to Licentiate status, accredited by INPP International, and is recognised within the global network of INPP National Principals across more than 20 countries. It combines face-to-face practical training, supported self-study, supervised clinical casework, and written case study submissions. Competence is demonstrated through the quality of clinical work rather than through traditional examinations.
Programme structure
History and development of the INPP Method; reflex development and neurological foundations; developmental screening using the INPP Questionnaire. Assignments include background reading, written reflection, and introductory case study work.
INPP Diagnostic Assessment in depth, motor skills, reflex testing, and perceptual assessment. Trainees complete assessments on a minimum of six subjects between modules, with continued supervised reading and casework.
Diagnostic report writing; designing individualised remedial programmes; INPP movement exercises in practice. Includes a case discussion seminar and preparation for the examination module.
Four written papers assessing both theoretical knowledge and clinical application. A minimum of 60% is required in each paper. Where a paper is not passed, the trainee will be supported toward resubmission or reattendance.
On completion, graduates receive a provisional certificate valid for 18 months, during which mandatory supervision is completed before full Licentiate status is confirmed. Licentiates gain access to the INPP resource library, the UK practitioner directory, and the international INPP community of practitioners.
